Besides his illustrations and books Peter Sis also graces the world with his magnificent tapestries. This particular image depicts John Lennon driving the “Yellow Submarine,” which in this case is the island of Manhattan. Sis’s work to commemorate John Lennon premiered at Ellis Island last summer, with the likes of The Edge,Yoko Ono, and Bono in attendance. Here the three are seen giving the peace sign. As Lennon once sang, “Imagine all the people, Living life in peace.”
