The Children’s Culture Study Group (CCSG) is a graduate student-run organization at the University of Florida dedicated to the study of children’s literature and culture. Consisting of both faculty and students, the CCSG provides the unique opportunity to examine the children’s literature collection located in the Baldwin Library of Historical Children’s Literature in the Department of Special Collections at the University of Florida. CCSG traditionally meets once a month to discuss works in children’s literature and related scholarship: however, CCSG is currently seeking new leadership to organize these meetings. For more information, please contact Kenneth Kidd.
The Young Adult Reading Group (YARG) is an outgrowth of CCSG and is dedicated to reading and discussing contemporary works of YA fiction in an effort to expose students and faculty to new works, trends and genres in the field. YARG meets once a month during the school year and weekly during the summer. If you are interested in more information, please contact Rebekah Fitzsimmons (rfitz @ ufl.edu) or Casey Wilson (kubrtm@ufl.edu).
