On display at the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art from December 10, 2013 – June 08, 2014, Private Dramas, Public Dreams: The Street Photographs of Helen Levitt & Friends showcases over 40 photographs by street photographer and filmmaker Helen Levitt.
Many of Levitt’s photographs of street life in 1930s and 1940s New York City capture children in spontaneous moments of play, interaction, and introspection, as in the above photograph, “Girls with Bubbles” (1942).
