Lost and Found in The Archives: January 18, 2017

January 18, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

FREE

On Wednesday January 18, 2017 in Smathers Library East (Room 100) there will be a talk about archives and a film screening. Our esteemed guests will be film professor Dr. Dan Streible of New York University and archivist Skip Elsheimer of AV Geeks. They will be showing some very interesting short films that discuss children and race as their forefront issues. Below you can see a screenshot of one of the films that will be screened at the event. Ro-Revus Talks about Worms is a public health film which teaches children about hygiene and how *not* to get worms. Another film that will be showcased is Felicia (1965), a cinematic treasure about a young African-American/Hispanic girl living in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles. Felicia has been recently added to the National Film Registry!

Come see these films and much more on Wednesday 1/18/17!
